The Union is comprised of the municipalities of Tripoli, El-Mina, Al-Beddawi and Qalamoun. Al-Beddawi was transferred from the Tripoli district to the Minieh-Dinnieh district following the 1960 parliamentary elections. In 2017 the Lebanese Parliament approved a proposed law to return Al-Beddawi to the Tripoli district.
